Four people (five, really, but TomTom ‘doesn’t count’) lock themselves away deep inside a mountain behind a double lock of their own design to conduct a social experiment and — more importantly — to remove themselves from the all-penetrating reach of The Corporation and to develop a code that will render that reach ineffective and therefore restore them to freedom of some kind in the network.
